Guidelines

Here are some guidelines

  1. Please contact me for a consultation before sending your quilt in, so that I can understand what you are looking for and can give you an approximate time needed to do the quilting.
  2. Quilt tops need to be squared up, Pressed, and threads clipped.
  3. Backing needs to be pieced (if needed), squared up and pressed and should be 3 inches larger on all sides. So... the backing should be 6" larger in both directions. For example, if the quilt top measures 50"x 50", the backing should be 56" x 56". If the backing needs to be pieced , a horizontal seam is preferred but not required. MInky backing quilts very well as long as it does not have soft fluffiness on the underside which would be inside the quilt, please consult with me if you have questions.
  4. All thread and needle costs are included unless there is a special thread you would like that I would have to order. If I need to order I will purchase 2 cones at your expense and you will be given the remainder of the thread.
  5. Batting - you can supply your own batting or can purchase from me. I offer Cotton Warm and White Batting and 80/20 Winline batting at $8.00/yard based on the smallest side of your quilt. Other types of batting can be used with the exception of puffy 100% polyester.
  6. Binding services are available, I prefer to make and apply the binding by machine -- you supply the fabric. For fabric amounts, please consult with me.
  7. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions, I would love to consult with you about your quilt. The aim of my quilting is to accentuate the hard work and time you have put into your quilt.
